Did you know there is a National Wedding month (no, not June – it's February), a National Prepare Your Home to Be Sold Month (April), a Shameless Promotion month (September) and a National Tie month (December)? There is a National Cowboy Poetry week (January), an Egg Salad week (April) and a Weird Contest week (August). But there is really only one day every year where we set aside time to focus on mom.

I cannot do everything, but still I can do something; and because I cannot do everything, I will not refuse to do something that I can do.” If you haven't heard the "Starfish Thrower" story yet, it's one of my favorites. It's SO easy to be overwhelmed by the beach littered with starfish I can't get to and can't make a difference for, but I can be reminded that it makes a difference to THAT one. And, adoption is something I can do.
