More kids for Pitt-Jolie family

As I said before, I'm not much of a celebrity watcher - with one notable exception - the Pitt-Jolie family. I love what they are doing for the children of the world, from donating to an orphanage in India while filming there, to the creation of the Jolie-Pitt Foundation, dedicated to helping both Doctors Without Borders and Global Action for Children. I love the way they are willing to go and live and work in the countries where their children are from, and that they create a humanitarian aid organization in their children's honor, for their birth country. I even like the way that Angelina "lets" people photograph her without make-up - that seems rare in the celebrity world. I love that they "walk the walk and talk the talk". As a mom of a large, international family, I am delighted that they are "not done". At the Palm Springs International Film Festival on Saturday, Brad Pitt told PEOPLE that he and Angelina Jolie want another sibling for Maddox, 5, Zahara, 2, and 7-month-old Shiloh. "Always, of course," he said. "We'll let you know when we get there."

Angelina also recently did an interview with a French magazine "Gala", then clarified that despite her comments, she wasn't trying to criticize Madonna for adopting a child from Malawi.

"The article included many falsehoods," Jolie said in a statement on Monday. "I said many positive things that were omitted. I feel we must focus on the present and I encourage everyone to be supportive so that every child can adjust nicely to their new home."

In her interview with Gala, Jolie also talks about her relationship with Brad Pitt. "Don't go repeating it whatever you do, but, yes I love him. I love him a lot," she says. "After I met him my life seemed more harmonious."

Maybe they'll return to Africa to adopt again - that gets my vote. If only they would ask me for my opinion!! Seriously, wherever they adopt from, it will be a good thing - not only for their new child, but for the other children in that country where media attention will focus, at least for a while.

I keep trying to get them to come to our Southern California Ethiopia adoption group, but so far they are no shows. :)

Well darn it! Don't they know cultural awareness is important for their Ethiopian daughter?! Bwahaha. ;)

I just hope they recognize and address the less-than-optimally newsworthy aspects of raising adoptees... if their kids turn out to have mental health issues, will they know what to do? Will they do it? Will it be public fodder? Can their kids grieve their losses in such a public forum?

Of course I don't know them and don't know what they might do, but I *hope* they'd be open with that aspect of adoption too. I have no doubt they'll be able to access help for their kids - maybe they'll even be calling you. Seriously. I doubt the kids will grieve publically, but I bet they will have support for their grief. At least I hope they will.
