After spending all morning just to draw a little blood, we went back to the hotel and got Aaron to go to lunch. We went to the Habasha restaurant, but the food didn’t taste good to me today and Aaron has no appetite. The other kids ate fine though. We dropped Aaron back off, then went to try and get that last signature on the contract of adoption. We did that, then went over to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs for the authentication. It was another 324 birr just for a simple rubber stamp with a signature.
We then had some free time, so I got to check email and Greg had posted several times, including that the visa card with my name was on it’s way and should be here today or tomorrow. Yeah!
Today was also the day Aaron was supposed to go cook dinner for missionaries from church. He was supposed to leave at 4 and we were supposed to eat dinner at 6. At 3:30, we left to go to Dr. Belachew’s office to pick up the physicals so we could submit them with the visa application. We didn’t leave there until 6:40. Sigh.
Aaron had to have the Case’s come pick him up, then he was an hour late getting there, so they skipped the rolls and Sister Case made the curry sauce while they put Aaron to bed. He was just too sick to stand, let alone cook. We didn’t get there until 7:20, at which point most everyone had to leave. They did understand about waiting three hours for one piece of paper, though. The young missionaries invited Aaron to come out with them and I think that would be great if he can get to feeling better. Poor kid is just really sick. No fun, no fun.
